Internal Happiness Song

The lights are dim
Yet the room brightens up
You walk in, causing smiles to bloom.
Dark thoughts and obscure shadows shamely seep out the room
Everything illuminates!
The atmosphere is most refreshing
Everyone's eyes are wider
As if trying to witness this spontaneous recovery
The joy makes all hearts bigger
Smiles consume faces...
Gloom has faded, long gone
Hearts pulse to the same tempo
Catchy beat of a familiar song
Everyone seems to know the words
No significant source to this maffick
It's the Internal Happiness Song
And everyone's dancing.
No one gets tired
For once, we are exuberantly alive
Cheeks roseate, hearts full of love
Life lives on
To the Internal Happiness Song.

Creation as I see it.

I wrote this story about a picture I took of a beautiful sunset. And in the sunset, there was a plane going west at a downward looking angle (it wasnt crashing it was just going lowerish..). And I made a connection with the visual. And as I was looking at the picture, I just started writing. This is what I got but you really need to see the picture to get the whole effect.

Once upon a time, the eveningwas so wonderful, heaven was visable in the sky. And if you were lucky, you could see a new life being brought down to earth like a falling star. Except this star goes in mommies bellys and not pockets. And the sky turn another shade of beautiful once this phenomenal thing happened. It was rare like the northern lights and that made it all the more special. The sky turned pinker as the new life gracefully drifted down into the loving hearts of their new family. The end

Go to bed, my love...

I wrote this after hearing about Gracie's accident and how a lot of my friend's weren't getting sleep from the American Dream Project. I wrote it on a napkin with a red permanent marker on a break while writing my own big ass essay...half asleep myself. It kinda helped that I was half asleep because I had an idea how they felt.

You sound so sleepy,
Did I wake you?
It's been a long day
I'm glad you made it.
How did you make it?
How could you take it?
I know you're tired,
Closer to sleep with every wink...
Each blink gets longer after a while
Why don't you relax?
Why don't you sleep?
You deserve every wink
To wake in the morning and smile at the sun..
Those tired eyes dont do you justice
When your lips have to smile alone.
Go to bed, my love
Rest your head

Memory Lane

I wrote this sometime in March about a stroll I took with my friend. Though I wrote it quite a while ago, the contents are almost general enough to apply to lovely strolls nowadays. Either way, when you relate it to something in your life, the poem has that much more meaning. Enjoy =D

Brisk, gray day
Nicest none the less
The sun always got in my eyes, anyway
And the heat distracts the mind
We stroll a path we both know
No one leads, no one follows
We walk side by side
And we talk about many things
We laugh and we smile
We bond with our whole hearts
As we connect with our words
Deep in conversation, opens up the soul
Bare all, you've seen it before
Nothing new, nothing more
You see me as I truely am, no barriers or fun mirrors
You see past all the confusing signs, web, waterfall of tears.
And you, I see you with your mind, heart, and soul
Poured out like cereal into my cupped hands, tightly sealed like a bowl.
You're full of helpless love, romance, passion seeping through the seams
It's quite cloudy and dark out, but your eyes do gleam
They gleam with unconditional love, incredible love, so distinct you can taste it
It's a taste too sweet for me but just right for her.
My stomach can barely handle it
But the flavor so rich and fresh,
I lick the spoon anyway
And here we are in our simplest state
Complexities set aside
We let the rain fall on our face
We see from the inside
I didn't notice just before
Our faces were dripping wet
I was distracted by your words
And where the thought and sound met.
We kept walking despite the chill
As we talked, forgot it all together.
Round and round the block we go
Closer and farther from home we are
Lost in our thoughts, we walk hand in hand
To a familiar place in our memories.
We're safe and warm in this place called
Memory Lane

What to start with...ahh!

Eyes Half Closed

Sometimes I want to smile with my eyes half closed
In hopes to peek at the inside of me glow
Like looking at the sun with your eyes shut closed
And the light finds a way into your tiny pore holes
Or how sun rays find a way through my shut blinds
How the most obscure thoughts are shunned away by the kind
You can give me a hug and like the rays of the sun
Sift through my gloomy mood and make it shamefully run
Where now the warm rays can cleanly shine through
My coldness defrosts and melts away
Like a brisk winter snow on a warm spring day
Sometimes I want to smile with my eyes half closed
In hopes to witness this internal glow

A new addition to my current blog...hmmm?

So this is the new addition to HerSmilingEyes. I found that I have a lot of trouble putting poems on there...so I came to the conclusion that I would branch off. That way, you wouldnt have to read my poems if you really didnt want to. And with that, I would know who really wants to read my stuff. Yay! More to fiddle with!

Enjoy, friends =)
